How to Make Money on OnlyFans in 2026, With AI Content That Follows the Rules
How to make money on OnlyFans in 2026: the 80/20 split, official price limits, the math behind $100 a day, payouts, and AI content within the rules.
Article summary
- OnlyFans keeps 20% of every fan payment and creators keep 80%, across subscriptions, paid posts, paid messages and tips.
- Official limits: subscriptions $4.99 to $50 a month or free, bundles up to $250, paid posts and messages $3 to $100, tips $3 to $100 ($200 for fans on the platform at least 4 months).
- $100 a day to your balance takes about $3,750 a month in fan payments, for example 375 subscribers at $10. That is arithmetic, not a forecast.
- AI content is allowed on OnlyFans only if it clearly features the verified creator and carries a label such as #ai. Wholly AI-generated accounts can be removed; Fanvue and MYM accept them with disclosure.
You make money on OnlyFans by charging fans for access and for extra content: a monthly subscription, pay-to-unlock posts and messages, tips and multi-month bundles. OnlyFans keeps 20% of every payment and you keep 80%. Earnings are never guaranteed. What OnlyFans does publish is its fee, its price limits and its payout rules, and those set the arithmetic behind “$100 a day”. AI can add volume to that, but only within the October 2026 rule that AI content must clearly feature the verified creator.
Every figure below comes from the OnlyFans Help Centre and Terms of Use, read on 5 October 2026. Prices and limits change, so check the linked pages before you set yours.
How OnlyFans pays creators: the 80/20 split
OnlyFans takes a flat 20% of what fans pay you. The Terms of Use put it this way:
Our fee for Creator Interactions is calculated as 20% of the total User Payment and will be deducted from each User Payment.
The Help Centre page on payout percentages confirms that creators receive 80% of any fan payment, “including subscriptions, paid messages, and tips”. The Help Centre lists one rate for all creators.
The audience is large, and so is the competition. The BBC reported in August 2026 that OnlyFans had 132 million paying subscribers and 2.5 million active creators in 2025. The same report notes that creators have pushed back on the idea that the site is a get-rich-quick scheme.
The ways to earn on OnlyFans, with the official limits
| Income stream | What fans pay | Your share |
|---|---|---|
| Subscription | $4.99 to $50 a month, or a free account | 80% |
| Bundle | 2 or more months at once, up to $250 | 80% |
| Pay-to-unlock post | $3 to $100 | 80% |
| Paid message | $3 to $100 | 80% |
| Tip | $3 minimum; $100 maximum for new fans, $200 for fans on the platform at least 4 months | 80% |
| Referral payout | 5% of a referred creator’s earnings for their first 12 months, up to $50,000 per creator | Paid by OnlyFans |
Subscriptions and bundles
The subscription price can be set between $4.99 and $50 a month. You can also run a free account at $0.00 and earn through pay-per-view content and direct messages instead.
Bundles let a fan buy two or more months at once. The maximum bundle price is $250. A bundle brings in several months of payment up front.
Paid posts and paid messages
PPV (pay-per-view) is content a fan pays for once to open, on top of any subscription. Both a paid message and a paid post can be priced from $3 to $100.
PPV is the main lever on a free account, and it adds to subscription income on a paid one. It also needs a steady supply of new content to sell.
Tips
The tip limits are $3 at the low end and $100 at the top for new users. Fans who have been on OnlyFans for at least 4 months can tip up to $200. The tip button is switched on once you have finished onboarding and begun actively posting.
Promotions and free trials
Promotions cost you revenue per subscriber but can bring in new ones. OnlyFans lets you run a promotional campaign with a discount of up to 90% on your normal subscription price, for a limited time and a set number of subscribers.
A free trial gives new fans access to a paid account for a limited time. It is only offered to fans who have not subscribed to you before and whose subscription is not set to auto renew.
The referral program
If another creator joins through your referral link, the referral program pays you 5% of their earnings for their first 12 months on OnlyFans, up to $50,000 per referred creator. There is no limit on how many creators you can refer. Referral payments are processed on the first working day of each month.
How to make $100 a day on OnlyFans: the arithmetic
This section is math, not a promise. It shows how many paying fans a target takes, nothing more.
$100 a day is about $3,000 over a 30-day month. Because you keep 80%, fans need to pay $125 a day, or about $3,750 a month, for $3,000 to reach your balance.
Here is what that takes from subscriptions alone:
| Monthly price | You keep per fan | Paying subscribers needed for $3,000 a month |
|---|---|---|
| $4.99 | $3.99 | about 752 |
| $10 | $8 | 375 |
| $20 | $16 | about 188 |
| $50 | $40 | 75 |
At $10 a month, 375 subscribers × $10 × 80% = $3,000.
PPV changes the mix. On a free account selling $15 paid messages, you keep $12 per unlock, so $3,000 a month takes 250 unlocks, a little over 8 a day. Most accounts combine both: for example, 200 subscribers at $10 bring $1,600 to your balance, and 117 unlocks of a $15 message add about $1,400.
These figures are before your own tax, bank fees, refunds and any costs of producing content. OnlyFans states that you are responsible for the tax you owe on your earnings.
How to make money on OnlyFans for beginners: a starting plan
The first steps are the same for every creator. Get verified, price simply, post often and promote within the rules.
- Open a creator account. You need to be 18 or over. The Terms of Use ask you to “Upload a valid form of ID and two photos of you and complete identity verification”, and to provide tax documentation where it applies.
- Pick one price to start. Choose a subscription price or a free account with PPV. You can change it later, and promotions let you test lower prices for a limited time.
- Post on a regular schedule. Tips are only switched on once you are actively posting, and PPV needs new material to sell.
- Keep the bio and avatar safe for work. OnlyFans does not allow nudity in your bio or avatar, because people who have not subscribed can see them.
- Promote where it is allowed. OnlyFans asks creators not to promote their account with Google Ads or any similar advertising platform or search engine advertising. Social profiles and link aggregators are fine, as long as you follow each platform’s own terms.
- Turn on watermarks. OnlyFans offers a free watermarking service in your Privacy and Safety settings.
- Keep subscribers paying. Send new subscribers a welcome message and keep posting on the schedule you set. Take fan requests through paid messages and tips, priced within the $3 to $100 limits. For renewals, offer bundles of two or more months, and use promotions to bring in new subscribers at a discount for a limited time.
Where AI fits under the October 2026 OnlyFans rule
AI can help a verified creator produce more content. It cannot replace the creator. The October 2026 Terms of Use say:
AI Generated Content: You can only share Content that has been generated, altered, or enhanced by artificial intelligence (“AI Generated Content”) if: it clearly features the verified Creator; a User can clearly tell that the Content is AI Generated Content with a signifier such as #ai, or #AIGenerated; and it is in keeping with our Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy.
The Help Centre page Can I post AI content on OnlyFans? repeats the rule and names “#ai” as the easiest label. The page on what you can post adds that content cannot feature a creator whose identity OnlyFans cannot verify, “including accounts or content that are wholly AI-generated”, or content that “features heavily altered images”. In practice, that leaves four rules:
- The content shows you, the verified creator. A fully AI persona is not allowed on OnlyFans, even on a verified account, because the content has to clearly feature you.
- Keep AI content recognisably you. Content that features heavily altered images can be removed, so AI should add sets and scenes, not change who is in them.
- Every AI post carries a visible label, such as #ai or #AIGenerated.
- Nothing else in the Acceptable Use Policy is broken. That includes its ban on “misleading descriptions of media”. Do not sell AI content as a real photoshoot or a filmed custom.
Within those rules, AI does the most for the income streams that need volume:
- Batch photo sets. Generate a week or a month of themed sets of yourself in one session instead of booking a shoot for each.
- PPV clips. Turn your own pictures into short video clips to sell as paid messages or paid posts, labelled #ai.
- SFW teasers for social. Safe-for-work promo pictures of yourself for Instagram, TikTok or X. Follow each network’s own rules on adult links and AI labels.
The short version: your face, a verified account, a visible label.
If you want a fully AI creator: Fanvue and MYM
Some creators want an AI persona that does not show them at all. OnlyFans does not allow that, but two other platforms do, with disclosure. A persona built from scratch belongs there, with each platform’s label. The steps are in how to create an AI influencer, and Fansly vs OnlyFans compares the platforms, with a section on Fanvue and MYM.
Fanvue’s Help Centre says it allows fully AI-generated content, and that disclosure “must be clear and prominent”, on the profile bio, in the caption or as a watermark. Fanvue also says every AI creator account goes through the same verification process as human creators and shows an AI tag in its bio.
MYM allows AI content if you mark it “Virtual Image” or use #AI or #AIgenerated. MYM adds an “AI profile” badge to the account.
Fansly is the exception. Its AI policy states that “Photorealistic AI-generated content is not allowed on Fansly”, even when labelled.
Getting paid: pending balance, minimums and timing
Money does not reach your bank on the day a fan pays. OnlyFans holds it first.
- Pending balance. Your pending balance is what you earned in the last 7 days. For most creators it moves to your current balance after 7 days. In a small number of countries with a high level of reversed transactions, the hold is 21 days, switching to 7 days four months after the first earned transaction.
- Minimum payout. The minimum withdrawal depends on the payout method. For most methods it is $20.
- Timing. Payout requests are processed immediately and should arrive in 3 to 5 business days, and in some cases take up to 10 business days.
- Tax forms. US creators who earned and withdrew more than $600 in the previous tax year receive an IRS Form 1099.
Producing more content of yourself with FansCreator
The steady part of making money on OnlyFans is supply: subscribers renew when there is something new, and PPV needs content to sell. FansCreator covers the production side. You upload reference photos of yourself, and your face and body stay the same across every AI image and AI video clip you generate, SFW and NSFW. Use photos from your own files: the OnlyFans Acceptable Use Policy bans downloading content from OnlyFans “for any reason”. Keeping one face across video is covered in how to keep one face across AI video clips.
Downloads come formatted for OnlyFans, Instagram, TikTok and X. FansCreator does not post for you, so you add the #ai label and publish each piece yourself. Using anyone else’s face without their provable consent is prohibited by our Terms of Use. To adjust a picture after generating it, there is the uncensored AI image editor. You can start on the free plan.
