Fansly vs OnlyFans: Fees, Payouts, Verification and AI Rules

Fansly and OnlyFans pay creators the same share: 80% of what fans spend. The real differences are in pricing limits, payout rules, verification and, most of all, AI content. OnlyFans allows AI content only when it clearly features the verified creator. Fansly does not allow photorealistic AI content at all.

Every figure below comes from the platforms’ own Terms and Help Centre pages, read on 5 October 2026. Policies change, so check the linked page before you rely on a number. Fanvue gets its own section at the end, because it is where a fully AI creator can go.

Fees and earnings

Both platforms keep 20%. The OnlyFans Terms of Use say its fee “is calculated as 20% of the total User Payment”, and the Help Centre page on payout percentages confirms that creators receive 80% of any fan payment, including subscriptions, paid messages and tips.

Fansly’s getting started guide says creators “receive 80% of revenue from subscriptions, sold media, messages, and tips”, and adds that there are no hidden fees for payouts, processing or currency conversion.

So the split does not decide the question. What you can charge, and what you can post, does.

Pricing: what you can charge on each

OnlyFans gives you one subscription price per account. The Help Centre allows a subscription price between $4.99 and $50 a month, or a free account, plus bundles of two or more months up to $250. A paid message and a pay-to-unlock post can each be priced from $3 to $100. Tips run from $3 to $100 for new users and up to $200 for users who have been on the platform at least 4 months.

Fansly is built around tiers. Its guide to getting started with monetizing describes subscription tiers that can each include their own benefits, with the price set by you. Single pieces of media can be sold from $1.00 to $499.99, and tips range from $0.10 to $500.

In practice, Fansly gives you more room at both ends of the price range and lets you sell several subscription levels from one profile. OnlyFans keeps prices inside narrower bands.

Payouts

OnlyFans. Your pending balance is what you earned in the last 7 days. For most creators it moves to the current balance after 7 days. Creators in a small number of countries with a high level of reversed transactions wait 21 days, switching to 7 days four months after their first earned transaction. The minimum withdrawal depends on the payout method and is $20 for most methods.

Fansly. Each transaction enters a 7-day pending period before it can be withdrawn. The payout minimum depends on the method: $20 for Paxum, Cosmopayment and local bank deposits, $50 for SEPA, and $100 for international wires and cryptocurrency.

Creator verification

Both platforms verify a real, adult person before any money moves.

OnlyFans. The Terms of Use require creators to “Upload a valid form of ID and two photos of you and complete identity verification”. The Safety and Transparency Center says creators provide at least 9 pieces of identifying information, including a government photo ID, a standalone selfie and a selfie holding the ID. It also says all creator accounts face secondary “selfie checks” on a rolling 45-day cycle.

Fansly. The application guide has two stages. First a third-party identity and age check through Ondato. Then Fansly’s own review: a photo of the front and back of your ID, a photo of you holding the ID and a handwritten sign with your legal name, the date and “For Fansly”, and a short video of you holding both.

AI content: the biggest difference

This is where Fansly vs OnlyFans stops being close.

OnlyFans allows AI content of the verified creator. The October 2026 Terms of Use say you can only share AI-generated, altered or enhanced content if:

it clearly features the verified Creator; a User can clearly tell that the Content is AI Generated Content with a signifier such as #ai, or #AIGenerated; and it is in keeping with our Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy.

The Help Centre article Can I post AI content on OnlyFans? repeats the rule and calls “#ai” the easiest label. Its content moderation guide lists content that features a creator whose identity OnlyFans cannot verify, “including accounts or content that are wholly AI-generated, or features heavily altered images”, as content you cannot share. So a fully AI persona does not belong on OnlyFans, even on a verified account.

Fansly does not allow photorealistic AI content. Its AI content article says:

Photorealistic AI-generated content is not allowed on Fansly.

The same article says labelling content as AI-generated “does not make photorealistic or lifelike AI content permissible”, and the prohibited list names “deepfakes, face-swapped content, or synthetic media designed to appear as real humans”. You can apply as a non-photorealistic virtual entity, but you still register with your real legal information.

Team access for agencies and assistants

OnlyFans makes the account holder responsible. Its Terms of Use say that if “a third-party assists you with the management or operation of your Creator account, this does not affect your legal responsibility”.

Fansly has a built-in tool for this. Management Sessions give a manager a single-use login link with the permissions you choose. Payouts and account closure are always restricted.

Where Fanvue fits

If the persona you want to run is fully AI, neither platform above fits. Fanvue does. Its help article Is AI content allowed on Fanvue? says it allows “fully AI-generated content”, as long as the disclosure is “clear and prominent”, in the bio, the caption or as a watermark. Face-swapped content is allowed too, but “you MUST verify the real model behind the AI”. Fanvue also says every AI creator account goes through the same verification as human creators and carries an AI tag in its bio.

The money side is close to the other two. Fanvue’s earning rate article says its standard rate is 80%, and a post can be priced between $3 and $500.

MYM is the other option for an AI persona. Its AI content guide allows AI content labelled “Virtual Image”, #AI or #AIgenerated, and MYM adds an “AI profile” badge to the account.

Which one should you pick?

• You are a real creator with no AI in your plans. Both work. Choose Fansly for tiered subscriptions and wider price ranges, OnlyFans for its simpler single-price model.
• You are a real creator who wants AI content of yourself. OnlyFans, with #ai or #AIGenerated on every AI piece. Fansly does not allow photorealistic AI, labelled or not.
• You run a fully AI persona. Fanvue or MYM, with their labels. Not OnlyFans, and not Fansly unless the persona is clearly non-photorealistic.
• You run both kinds. Keep them on separate platforms and keep separate labelling habits for each.

Making AI content that fits these rules
